Let’s see what the Quran tells us about this amazing incident. Without hesitation, Ismail told his father to do as Allah commanded He, Ismael would remain patient and persevere. Nabi Ibraheem, alayhis salaam, Prophet Abraham, turned to his son, Ismaeel, and told him about a dream in which Allah asked him to sacrifice that which is dearest to him. Our own Qurbani, the ritual sacrifice that we make today, marks a defining moment that took place many thousands of years ago. Over the past few days, millions of sheep, goats, cows and camels have been sacrificed and their meat has been shared with the poor, all over the world. Today we celebrate Eidul Adha: The Eid of the Sacrifice. O mankind! O You who believe, – Be aware of Allah, and speak a straightforward word. Yuslih-lakum a’maalakum wa yaghfir lakum thunoobakum, wamay yu-til-laaha warasoolah, faqad faaza fawzan atheemaa.” Ya Ay-yuhal-latheena ‘aamanut taqul-laaha, wa qooloo qawlan sadeedaa. O You who believe, – Be aware of Allah, with correct awareness, an awe-inspired awareness, and die not except as Muslims.

I bear witness that there is no god but Alláh, the Only One without any partner and I bear witness that Muhammad, peace and blessings on him, is His servant, and His messenger.īismillahir Rahmanir Raheem! Ya Ay-yuhal-latheena ‘aamanut taqul-laaha, haqqa tuqaatihee wala tamu tun-na, il-la wa antum Muslimoon.” Anyone who is guided by Alláh, he is indeed guided and anyone who has been left astray, will find no one to guide him. We repent to Him and we seek refuge in Him from our own evils and our own bad deeds. It is a time to wash away the grime of spite, malice and stored-up enmity.” “Dear Muslims, Eid is also a priceless opportunity for people to purify their hearts towards one another and rectify things between themselves. Eid is an occasion of delight for those who put smiles on the faces of the needy and bring joy to the ailing and suffering.” Remember to smile, be happy and spread happiness among yourselves, your families and your Muslim brothers.
